This fundraiser is to help relieve the load of expenses off of Justin and Jamie during their time traveling and recovering from surgery after beating breast cancer. The funds will be used for meals, travel expenses, gear and supplies that Jamie will need before and after surgery. This is the way that they have requested friends and family support them at this time as well as your prayers and support. Help us love on Jamie and Justin through this tangible way.
From Jamie: “Breast Cancer! Yep, that’s right! But before you freak out , let me tell you how amazing God is. To start off, I found a lump. I gave it a couple of weeks to see if it would go away or not. It didn’t! I went to see the dr where they confirmed it was there. Mammograms confirmed the “lump” was there also. Because it wasn’t in the normal position of concern they figured it was just a cyst and nothing to worry about but they needed a biopsy to confirm. Well, during that biopsy that darn lump kept moving. Like move out of the line of the needle moving. So much so that they had to pull the needle out and insert it again. And yet it still kept moving. While this lump was moved, the dr was able to get samples from behind it which would not have been gotten otherwise. These little 2mm tricky little beast were hiding behind this lump. (The lump turned out to be just a normal cyst and not anything to worry about. ) But because this lump showed up and kept moving, like a storefront wiggly guy, the cancer was able to be caught early. So early that no chemo or radiation is needed. God is amazing! Plan is to have a double mastectomy with reconstruction to scoop out all these nuisances.
Justin and I have joy! We have joy and reassurance that God is in control. He is constantly moving and breathing in this situation. Not saying I haven’t lost my mind a couple of times with fear, worry, and the what ifs. It’s the overwhelming peace he has surrounded us with that we rely on and refuse to let go of.
The kids! It hit the older ones hard. The little ones don’t really understand to the fullest. But Malachi (6) when we were telling them stopped me in mid sentence to ask to pray for me. The amount of confidence and authority he had was astounding. Continue to pray for peace of mind and comfort. I thank God for the amazing friend group they have that have constantly text, prayed and checked up on them.
The surgery date is set for Oct 10. Pray it goes well and they get all of it so can we be done with all this. ”
