Fundraiser in Honor of Zachary Cook

It saddens friends and loved ones to learn of our good friend's recent passing. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Zach knew that he truly embodied the warrior's spirit. After high school, Zach made the decision to serve our country in the United States Navy - having been deployed to Afghanistan and stationed inland as a member of the Navy Expeditionary Forces. Following his service, Zach attended the University of Rochester, where he studied Molecular Genetics with interests in aging research. In addition to his hard work as a student, Zach exemplified what it meant to be a team player, motivator, and was an integral leader of the University of Rochester Men's Rugby team - making great contributions to the development of his teammates and the progression of the game he so dearly loved. Hard work, loyalty, and perseverance were foundational attributes of Zach's character - pushing him far and beyond what even the most capable men are able to accomplish. Zach's character was forged and born from his tenacity, unbreakable will, and desire to see those around him succeed - especially in the face of difficulties and struggles that none of us can ever truly comprehend. It is impossible to truly speak of his character in such few words, and all those who knew and loved Zach understand that reality. Zach would have wanted all of us to push forward, to be adventurous in our endeavors, and to reach out to one another and celebrate his life and the impact he had on so many individuals. This fundraiser will directly support funeral service expenses, and any remaining funds will be given directly to charitable organizations that specialize in the reintegration of war veterans suffering from PTSD into society. From all of Zach's friends and loved ones, we thank you dearly for your contribution to the celebration of a truly great man.
