Nereida’s Memorial Fund

It is with a very heavy heart to be writing this… 

My Mother Nereida just recently passed on February 26, 2022 of Cancer at the age of 62. She was first diagnosed of Stage IV breast cancer in 2017- At the beginning of 2020, she underwent emergency surgery to remove a tumor that had developed in her brain-yet, while visiting her in the ICU after surgery, she maintained that beautiful smile of hers -while singing “If I only had a brain” to us. She always managed to put a smile on everyone’s face. Shortly after her surgery, she was also diagnosed with beginning stages of dementia.

She did not lose her battle with cancer; she lived graciously and courageously with it until the very end. Never complained even when she was in pain because her outlook was always to keep positive and keep pushing . She dedicated her life advocating for others; working in behavioral health.

 

Nedie was a wonderful ; mother, mother-in-law, sister , cousin and friend who touched the lives of those around her. 

 

We would like to give her the celebration of life she greatly deserves. We are asking all of our friends and family for your support in this difficult time; any donation would be greatly appreciated, even if you can't donate sharing of this fundraiser would help tremendously. 

Anything above the initial goal will be used to take her home to Puerto Rico. Thank you for all your support. Please keep our family in your prayers as we grieve and prepare to celebrate her life in its fullness.
