Fundraiser for Miranda

My name is Jim Leahy and I am posting on behalf of my niece, Miranda England. Miranda lives in Sycamore, Illinois and attends college at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Miranda is in her junior year at CMU and her major is environmental science. Miranda is doing very well, maintaining good grades and volunteering in a lab that works on minimizing the impact of microplastic pollutants. Miranda also works during both the Summer and school year to assist with her college expenses. Miranda is a wonderful person and an inspiration to others, including her younger brothers and sister. 

On December 20th, Miranda was traveling home from school to spend the holidays with her family and was involved in a serious automobile accident. She hit a patch of black ice on the highway near Grand Rapids and her car flipped end to end for over 200 feet. Miraculously, Miranda suffered only minor injuries and will be able to fully recover and continue her studies. We are all grateful as it could have been much worse. Unfortunately, her car is a total loss. While Miranda has automobile insurance to cover collisions and medical, the insurance does not cover her car, which will cost about $7,500 to replace.

The purpose of this Go Fund Me appeal is to replace Miranda’s car. The car is important to her to help her travel home from Michigan, attend school and continue her volunteer work. This is the kind of incident that could happen to any of us and as a young college student, Miranda does not have the resources to replace the car. Any help that her family and friends can give her is much appreciated.
