Arun Jacob suddenly passed away at age 46 on February 26, 2023, from a heart attack; leaving behind his deaf wife, Melissa, and their three children: Nathanael, Jeremiah, and Rebekah. Melissa has dedicated her life to caring for her family and homeschooling her children. But now, in the wake of Arun's untimely death, she is left with not only a broken heart but also the burden of financial hardship. She needs our help to cover the costs of Arun's funeral and to provide for their children's continued education.

Arun was a remarkable man, with a heart full of compassion and a contagious love for life. He was born deaf, and yet he never let that hold him back. Instead, he dedicated his life to serving others, spreading hope and love wherever he went. He was part of DOOR International, a ministry that serves the deaf community. He served in Nairobi, Kenya and later on in India as well. After Melissa and Arun’s marriage, both of them served in India; Budapest, Hungary and Chiang Mai, Thailand together until they were transferred to the USA in 2008. Arun was known by his coworkers for his joy, contagious laughter and his gift for biblical storytelling. In the US, Arun continued to serve the deaf community by teaching the bible so that in turn they could teach it and spread the stories to one another. Arun also fulfilled five and a half years as a pastor at Deaf for Jesus Ministries in Long Island, New York.

Arun was passionate about giving back to his community, and every time he went to India, he brought suitcases filled with items for the deaf community. He truly lived a life of service, and his loss is felt deeply by all who knew him.
