Today Febuary 3rd I got the call from Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale Arizona that the Gastreontology department has accepted my case. To those that are not aware I have been diagnosed with Achalasia. Achalasia is a rare swallowing illness where the lower esophagus sphincter fails to relax. It affects 1 in 100,000individuals annually in USA. In El Paso all help has failed. The last hope was injecting Botox to the sphincter which was done 1/14 but failed. I'm to the point that is has come I'm fighting for my life. As no surgeons in El Paso Tx wont take my case, Mayo Clinic at Scottsdale Arizona has. It will be out of network so I'm responsible for the first $3200.00 then afterwards I'm responsible for the 20 %. Mayo has informed me it will be multiple trips the first 2 months. I'm also responsible for trip, lodging, meals etc. As I'm in fix disability I'm not able to cover my trip nor deductibles. Need to be there middle of May.
