Help Support Alea's Study Abroad Program

Hello, my name is Alea Romero. I am 21 years old and, I will be a senior at UCSB this upcoming school year. I am majoring in Psychological and Brain Sciences and Sociology with a minor in Applied Psychology. I am excited to share that during the spring semester of 2025, I have the incredible opportunity to study abroad in the Netherlands from late January to early May. This will be my first time traveling outside the country, making it a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I am eagerly looking forward to. While I am very excited about this experience to make this dream a reality, I am fundraising to afford the cost of the program and other costs that come with it. The estimated program total is $18,858 although I am hoping to raise $10,000 to go toward the cost of flights approximately $3,000, housing estimated $4,600, meals $2,800, UC Tuition, $6,285, UCEAP fees $1,900, and other necessities. This study abroad program is not only a chance to broaden my horizons but also to deepen my understanding of psychology, as I plan to take a full course load of psychology courses such as clinical psychology and memory. I aspire to work with disadvantaged children in the future, focusing on mental health and counseling, and I believe that the diverse experiences and knowledge I will gain in the Netherlands will be invaluable in achieving this goal. Any support you can provide will bring me one step closer to making this transformative experience possible.
