Full Time Care For Scott Fuller
Donazione protetta
Hi, my name is Jessica. I'm 23 years old and my father, Scott, has early-onset Alzheimer's and is only 60 years old. He was diagnosed a little over 4 years ago. Although he is physically healthy and strong it is devastating to watch him decline into a different person who can no longer take care of himself, form a sentence or remember anything. My mom, Debra, has done everything she could think of to help him, has taken him to many different doctors, changed his diet so he could be healthier, researched extensively on the disease and new medicine that could help him and tried to find care facilities that he could go to for a few hours a day. Unfortunately, there are little to no options for Alzheimer's disease. There's no cure, not a lot of research done on it and it happens to be more common than ever before. My mom and I are both exhausted and heartbroken from watching this all unfold and living with it everyday. I am currently still a student in music school and pursuing a songwriting career. When I'm not at school during the week I'm at home helping out my family. My mom and I both desperately need help with my dad. He is at the stage in Alzheimer's where he can't brush his own teeth anymore. Health insurance only sends in a nurse if the patient can no longer remember anyone but my dad is still aware and recognizes people. We just can't take care of him on our own anymore. I'm worried about the toll it's taking on my mom's health and I would really like to not lose both my parents. We need full-time care for my dad. Thank you for reading and supporting.
