From Small Town to Regional Stage : Support FTC Robotics Team #13583 Tripled Wire
Big things are happening in the small town of Penns Grove, New Jersey -- and we invite you to be a part of it.
FIRST Tech Challenge Team #13583, Triple-Wired, from Penns Grove Middle School has had an extraordinary season, proving what is possible when opportunity meets determination. Now, this talented group of students has earned the opportunity to compete on the East Coast Regional stage, and they need your support to get there.
This team is part of South Jersey Robotics, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to high-quality STEM education. Our partnership with Penns Grove School District began in 2017 alongside Principal Abner Mendoza, with the goal of bringing robotics, engineering, and technology programs to underserved and underrepresented youth in rural, agricultural Salem County.
The results have been nothing short of incredible.
“Our mission is to equip the younger generation with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the future,” says Kathy Simpkins, President of South Jersey Robotics. “These students exemplify the immense potential of youth when provided with the right tools and opportunities to succeed.”
Based on their outstanding performance at the New Jersey State FIRST Tech Challenge Championship, Triple-Wired has qualified for and been selected to attend the prestigious New England Premier Event, taking place April 17–18 at the Better Living Center at the Eastern States Exposition (The Big E) in West Springfield, Massachusetts.
This elite event will bring together top-performing teams from across the region—many of whom have access to far greater resources. Triple-Wired will stand among them, representing not only their school, but their entire community.
