Hi everyone ♥️ my name is Daisy Davis-Marcelo, and I’m the owner of Daisy Baked It, a small home-based bakery in the DMV. If you’ve ever ordered a cake, attended one of my Cake + Sip experiences, or followed my journey online, you know how much love and care I pour into everything I do.

But right now, I’m facing one of the hardest seasons of my life.

I’m currently hospitalized long-term due to preterm labor and other pregnancy complications. On Wednesday, October 29, I was admitted to the hospital after discovering that I was 5 cm dilated at 24 weeks + 6 days into my pregnancy. Because of the high risk of premature delivery, I have been placed on strict bed rest. That means that I am confined to the hospital indefinitely, unable to go home until our daughter arrives - whenever that may be. Once she’s born, she will likely need to spend significant time in the NICU. Our baby girl is doing well and being monitored closely, but our goal is to give her the best possible outcome by keeping her safe inside for as long as possible.

Because of this, I’ve had to pause all business operations. I can’t bake, host Cake + Sip events, or take on new orders. My income has completely stopped, while our family’s expenses have increased dramatically.
