Denny Fercho’s journey has taken him from growing up in California to a 1996 Olympian, Georgia Bulldog fan and a Grill Master extraordinaire. No one ever had a better teammate or friend. He coached little league and treated those kids like they were part of his own family. As a builder his skill and dedication was second to none.

But on December 7, 2022, Denny suffered a massive stroke and nearly died. He was rushed to Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center in Marietta Georgia. For the next few months in the hospital, he battled severe paralysis and his speech and language was compromised. Being the warrior he was, he overcame seizures, feeding tubes, several surgeries, and several other debilitating issues. Determined to get better, he embraced working with Speech, Physical and Occupational therapists. He gave his all and still does today towards his recovery.

As he improved, he moved into the Shepherd Center for Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries in Atlanta Georgia. Doing everything his therapists asked of him, he was able to move into an assisted living facility in May and eventually into a small apartment. Nurse practitioners and other therapists assist him on a regular basis. He still has severe paralysis on the left side of his body and challenges with his speech.

But being the champion he is, he is determined to improve and live a full life. His financial obligations are ominous because of his medical bills and his ongoing medical issues are his biggest challenge. The cost of Speech, Physical, Occupational and Language therapy and transportation getting to and from the medical facilities continue to add up.

Please help us raise funds to offset Denny’s medical bills and help him live in dignity in his own place. He continues to see the medical professionals needed to help with his ongoing battle to get better.
