Hello, my name is Sayed, and I am raising funds to support refugees and asylum seekers trapped in immigration detention centers in Thailand.
As someone who has worked with refugees in Thailand, I have seen the harsh reality of detention firsthand. Families who fled war and persecution, especially mothers and children, often spend months or even years behind bars, deprived of safety, dignity, and freedom.
Because Thailand is not a signatory to the 1951 Refugee Convention, refugees here are not legally recognized and cannot obtain legal status. Many are arrested and confined to overcrowded immigration detention facilities where families may spend years in confinement. Conditions are harsh, with limited access to education, healthcare, and freedom of movement.
Our most urgent goal is to first secure the release of mothers and children, who are the most vulnerable in detention. Once they are free, we will continue working to support the release of other women and men who remain unjustly confined. No child should grow up behind bars, and no parent should be forced to raise a child in detention.
Your donation will be used to:
• Bail out mothers, children, and other refugees from detention.
• Provide food, shelter, and other basic living expenses for those released, so they can begin to rebuild their lives in Thailand.
When refugees eventually leave Thailand to resettle in a third country, immigration returns the bail money to the guarantor. That money will then be used again to release another family or individual. This means your contribution will not be wasted and it will continue circulating, freeing more and more people from detention.
Every contribution brings someone closer to freedom. With your support, we can give children the chance to return to school, parents the chance to raise their families in dignity, and adults the chance to live without fear of confinement.
Together, we can make freedom possible. Please donate today and share this campaign with others who believe in human rights and justice.
