Free Jacob (Yaakub): Support DACA recipient detained by ICE
Jacob (Yaakub) Ira Vijandre, a beloved community member, and a DACA recipient, was detained by ICE after leaving home to go to work the morning of Tuesday, October 7, 2025, despite his valid DACA status and no record of criminal history or removal proceedings.
Later that evening, he was transferred to Bluebonnet Detention Center in Anson, Texas and then transferred to ICE Folkston Processing Center in Folkston, Georgia on Saturday, October 25, 2025 where he remains to this day.

Jacob (Yaakub) is a true bearer of Filipino culture, as a historian, Filipino Martial Artist, photographer, graphic novelist, and teacher of the ancient Filipino writing script Baybayin. The great grand-son of Congressional Gold Medal recipient and World War II Veteran Sergeant Lorenzo Fabian, he carries on the legacy of his great grandfather through his service to the larger Dallas Fort Worth community.
Now, we need to show up for him. These funds will be used to cover Jacob’s (Yaakub) expenses incurred while in detention, such as commissary, visitation, rent, utilities, and other expenses to be covered and managed by his family.
Another fundraising campaign is being conducted by the ICNA Council for Social Justice to help offset the cost of legal fees as we continue to fight his case.
