Svalbard Marathon: Running Against HCM
I will be running the Svalbard Marathon (78 degrees latitude somewhere way north of Norway) on 2 June 2012. In addition to eluding polar bears, I will be raising money in an effort to offer FREE heart screenings to young athletes (in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area) - specifically an inner city school or community that would not normally be able to afford these screenings.
This will be done in partnership with Champion Hearts (www.championhearts.com) - an organization that has been passionately seeking to aide in the diagnosis and awareness of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) - the leading cause of sudden death in young athletes. Please check out their website for a better understanding of this mission.
My goal is to raise at least $1,000 through this effort. I will also be personally matching whatever I raise up to $1,000.
Thanks for your support!!!
