For Lainey and the Scroggs family

Our Bedford community is heartbroken by the sudden and unimaginable loss of Lainey Scroggs, a beloved 13-year-old who passed away following an unexpected medical emergency. Lainey was preparing to begin eighth grade at Bedford Junior High, and so many people already knew just how special she was. Lainey was bright, outgoing, beautiful, personable, and full of life. She was a beloved member of the cheer team, an excellent student, a wonderful friend, and above all, a deeply loved daughter and sister. As Bedford Public Schools so perfectly shared, "Lainey was a cherished and vibrant part of the community, and her loss is being felt by friends, family, teammates, teachers, and neighbors alike. "

This fundraiser was created to support the Scroggs family as they face a pain no family should ever have to endure. Lainey’s mother, Sarah, has spent years caring for and educating children at Monroe Road Elementary, and her father, Billy, has dedicated a career to serving and protecting the community. Now it is our turn to surround them with the same love they have given to so many others. Donations will help ease financial burdens in the days and months ahead, including funeral and related expenses, time away from work, and memorials or special ways to honor Lainey’s life. No amount of money can lessen this grief, but it can help lift one worry from their shoulders.
