For Jake… Lawndale Park Improvements

Jacob Brown left this world way too soon. He was a young man who loved to play. Jake loved his family, friends and sports. As a younger child, he spent a lot of time playing at Lawndale Park with his family and friends.

A group of our family friends came up with the idea to keep Jake’s spirit alive by making improvements to the park where he spent so much time as a child. We are working in conjunction with the Massillon Parks & Recreation Department to coordinate this project to honor Jake and improve a neighborhood park.

Many upgrades are being planned to improve Lawndale Park in Jake's memory.

Construction of a new multi-purpose sports wall for lacrosse and soccer. These were two of Jake’s favorite sports. This wall will feature a memorial plaque and mural painted by local artist Scot Phillps.
A new gaga ball pit. This is a fun game that Jake enjoyed at Boy Scout camp.
We are building a "sports equipment" lending library. This will make sure that there will always be balls for use at the park.
There are also plans for new seating, sidewalks and more.

We hope that these improvements can in some small way help to keep Jacob's spirit alive and at the same time help to promote outside play at Lawndale Park. Thank you to our family, friends and community for all the continued support.
