The First Lap Project
Donation protected
The First Lap Project is 24 people running 24 laps of 1.76km over 24 hours while getting a bunch of other stuff done and with the opportunity to raise $ for First Hike Project.
Each of us have marked out a lap where we live and will be running a marathon running together, in different places, from 7PM Saturday, 29 September to 7PM Sunday, 30 September - one lap each hour.
The First Hike Project (which clearly inspired the name) is a not-for-profit that takes refugee youth on bush hikes in Perth, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane and Melbourne, as a ‘welcome to country’ for recent arrivals to Australia.
The funds will be used to stage hikes across the country. One hike costs around $1000 and we'll be aiming, as a team of 24, to raise enough $ to stage five hikes across the country.
We'd love you to support us so that we can support them!
