Support for Barnes Family After Fire Loss
Donation protected
I'm Apollo. My heart aches as I create this GoFundMe for my mother-in-law, Banita, and her sister, Tevis. They lost their home of nearly 30 years to the Eaton fire in Altadena. It's the home where my wife, Aneesah, grew up. This home even sheltered me when Aneesah and I were early in our entrepreneurial journey. It was full of so many things that can't be replaced.

Aneesah's wedding dress, her Rose Court dress, a Singer sewing machine from the 1800s, Granddad's 1980s 5.0 Mustang they intended to restore, Grandma's jewelry, photos, art, and countless other things that are impossible to replace... all gone. Then, there are the items that can be replaced, but the cost and logistics of replacing them are almost unimaginable... from tiny items like Q-tips to big items like computers. The administrative processes that could help them get back on their feet are not fast or friendly.

Banita is a semi-retired drug and alcohol treatment counselor who evacuated at 3 a.m. with nothing but the clothes on her back, and Tevis is a public servant in Culver City. For many years, this house was a physical catalyst for family bonds among Banita, Tevis, their mother, Tommie, and my wife, Aneesah. It housed three generations throughout Aneesah's upbringing, and now it's been reduced to ashes.

Right now, all donations will assist with needs that might not be fully covered by other sources of aid. Your help will allow us to address the many aspects of recovery and support our family through this crisis. No amount is too low. I deeply appreciate your consideration and generosity.
