Final Medical Expenses for Panther
Donation protected
Panther, the Beloved cat of Erin Bernardi and David Mikofsky had to say good-bye this past November 19th.
After several years of companionship, partial blindness but snuggles so aggressive some deemed him "An Emotional Support Cat," Panther unexpectedly stopped eating and stopped demanding his snuggles.
Basic tests performed by the vet painted a painfully incomplete picture.
Panther was very sick.
But whether it was something that could be treated and return his health or something that was insurmountable would require hospitalization.
Everyone agreed that Panther deserved at least a chance to be saved.
The first 4 hours brought a vet bill plus a hospital estimate that came as high as $2682.11.
The hospital tried to stabilize Panther and a nurse had to be assigned to him through the night as they tried to bring up and maintain his very low blood pressure.
The second day, before noon, the hospital gave the heartbreaking news.
Chemotherapy may extend Panther's life by mere weeks at the cost of several tens of thousands of dollars.
Erin and David, performing for Faires had no way to get back in time to say good-bye in person.
So they had to say good-bye to their beloved pet via video chat.
The final bill hasn't come in yet, but the expectation is between $4228 and $7635 for the two days of care.
As one of Erin and David's many friends who loved Panther, I asked their permission to try and raise money to help ease the financial burden for this 2 day hospital care during this difficult time.
I've set the goal of this fundraiser with the assumption that the second day of care would be equal to the charges and estimates of the first day. The actual expense will likely be more. When that amount is known, I'll update it here.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
