Fill HJS' 2024 Paul Brown Monday Night Jazz Funding Gap

Please help fill our 2024 Paul Brown Monday Night Jazz (PBMNJ) Concert Series funding gap.

The annual PBMNJ concert series is put on by the Hartford Jazz Society. We rely on a number of grants to meet our budgetary goals and operational expenses. Grants run in cycles and this year, 2024, we are finding ourselves $7,500 short of anticipated funding sources. This is roughly 10% of our total budget for the Series. We're asking you to help makeup that difference through your generosity, your love of the music and your love of this precious, iconic Hartford event.

The Series is a go for 2024, but we'd like to not have to dip into our savings to make it so, and rather use that toward other programs and our jazz scholarship awards.

The Series has been recognized as a New England Legacy and is referenced in the Library of Congress as the oldest free continuously run jazz festival in the United States. Each year the Hartford Jazz Society seeks to present a diverse program featuring musicians exhibiting the highest artistic excellence, many of which are often new to the Greater Hartford audience. Each in-person concert will consist of an opening act featuring a local musician or ensemble followed by a headliner of regional, national or international prominence.

The mission of The Hartford Jazz Society is to cultivate an appreciation of the sound, culture and love of jazz by presenting a variety of live events and other activities throughout the Greater Hartford community. Founded in 1960, The Hartford Jazz Society is the longest continuously operating jazz society in the country. All donations for this campaign will go directly to operational costs of the 2024 Paul Brown Monday Night Jazz Series.
