Hi my name is Sion and I am helping Felicia and Laura Gibb with a go fund me, to help pay for the burial costs of their mother who died.

As some of you may know these girls are like family to us. The loss of their mother has been devastating for them and shocking. No one at this age should have the responsibility of planning a funeral for their mom, let alone coming up with the money for it.

Felicia and Laura Gibb’s mother died unexpectedly September 2020. Felicia was 18 and Laura 13. Felicia tried getting financial aid to assist with the costs but was not successful. In September it will have been a year and I would like to help the girls not have to wait another winter and be able to have a proper burial for their mother.

I never wanted to ever have to go through this or deal with any of this, and I definitely did not expect to have to go through it so soon. On September 9th 2020 my worst fear came true, my mommy, my mother, my protector, my best friend, passed away. It has been an increasingly hard time for me to deal with the death of my mother. She passed very suddenly and it has been difficult for me to take on the role of executor of her estate. One of my biggest challenges so far has been trying to come up with the money to be able to bury her. I was trying to work with medicaid and it took months. They kept telling me they were going to deny my claim if I didn’t provide information I had not yet myself been given because it wasn’t yet available. I missed a deadline they gave me by maybe 3 days and they haven’t spoken to me since. No letter talking about denial of claim or anything. Just silence. I’ve tried to call any and every office I can find a number for. Spent about 3 hours one day getting switched from extension to extension trying to find the right person to talk to. Unfortunately it took so long for Medicaid to leave us hanging we are quickly approaching the spring burial payment date and I am worried she will need to be stored for even longer. Because of this, our family greatly needs help if we are going to be able to pay my mother’s burial costs. Due to COVID we are already having issues paying other bills. Anything would be greatly appreciated to help put my mom to rest.
