Hi, my name is Janette and I am fundraising for the young people in Uganda. There are 195 countries in the world (as recognised by the UN) and Uganda is in the top ten poorest.

As of 2020, over 25% of the Ugandan population lives below the international poverty line of $1.90 a day. The governing bodies including police are rife with corruption, making it near impossible for the poorest to get access to help including healthcare and education as many institutions take bribes. Uganda has regularly been ranked as one of the most corrupt countries in Africa and has scored well below the world average since 2010.

I am raising funds to provide resources to some of the many orphanages in Uganda and enable youth services to be delivered. The goal is to raise awareness of the conditions in Uganda and to provide practical help and educational resources to the people who need it most!

Many Ugandans do not have the option, space or knowledge on how to grow their own food. We want to rent land and teach children how to grow and prepare their own food. Our aim is to also to teach the skills needed to access the internet and to learn and research not only on life skills but also their human rights. If we can improve nutrition and health outcomes, education and awareness to the next generation we can set up a self sustaining community that can pass on their knowledge and thrive together.
