The NSW Firearm Dealers Association acknowledges that lawful firearms owners, licensed dealers, and primary producers are increasingly being treated as though they are dangerous or morally suspect, despite full compliance with the law.

The lawful use of firearms is no different to many everyday activities. Golf clubs, kitchen knives, and trade tools can all cause harm if misused, yet the lawful users of those tools are not subjected to suspicion or prejudice. Lawful firearms ownership should be treated no differently.

Lawful activity should never make individuals or businesses a target for discrimination.
