# Help Us Support PDA Individuals and Their Families
Safer Sphere is proud to be partnering with the PDA Society to raise vital funds and awareness for people living with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).
PDA is a profile of autism characterised by an extreme anxiety-driven need to avoid everyday demands and expectations. For PDA individuals, demands can trigger a genuine fear response. It is not simply a matter of being unwilling or oppositional; many people with PDA desperately want to do certain things but feel unable to when those demands threaten their sense of autonomy.
Despite research suggesting there may be more than 140,000 PDA individuals in the UK, awareness and understanding of PDA remain limited. As a result, many individuals and families struggle to access the support, resources, and recognition they need.
That's why our team is stepping up. Together, we're raising both funds and awareness to help improve the lives of PDA individuals and their caregivers.
