Those of us that know Sarah, know she has a heart made of pure gold, and it’s bigger than most. Recently she had influenza type B, which settled into her heart, causing fluid to build up around her heart. Luckily, Sarah went to the ER and was admitted, pretty quickly, stating she could have had a heart attack in her sleep. Sarah’s cardiologists rushed her into emergency open heart surgery Thursday morning, because her heart function was dropping. Surgery was completed, and shortly after the decision was made to have her transferred to University of Penn. Sarah is currently on bypass and a ventilator, and heavily sedated. They have started to lighten the meds and she was slightly aware, and even peeked her eyes open a bit. She’s in there, she’s fighting forher life!! Though improvements are being made, our Sarah has a long road ahead of her.
With that being said, Sarah does not have much vacation time, certainly not enough to cover the next few months. And her husband who is right by her side, does not have enough vacation time. They are now reduced to one income, and a partial once her disability kicks in, which can take weeks or longer.
Sarah and Eric could use all the prayers and help possible right now. So if you are able to help, please do so, and if not, please share. Sarah’s smile and kind spirit has touched a lot of hearts, so let’s help her heal her own heart!
