Erik's Apartment Fire

Thank you for taking the time to assist Erik, my best friend, in recovering from the fire that ripped through his apartment building in Chinatown, Manhattan, last night (April 14). Many of you who are receiving this link know Erik and love him just as much as I do. He recently redecorated his apartment and made it feel more like his home, but it's most likely that everything in his apartment is ruined.

The fire broke out at 3:00 AM last night/early morning, but thankfully Erik was awake and able to escape through his window via the fire exit. By the time of his escape, the fire had already gotten to his floor and made the staircase to his floor collapse. He is unable to return due to the collapse of the staircase, but from some photos, other apartment units have been entirely torched.

Raising these funds will enable Erik to rent a place and get himself some furniture. I can't imagine what he is going through, but I am glad that he is alive. At this time, he is left without a home or clothes.
