Help Emma beat cancer

Recently our daughter Emma Hartman was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkins Lymphoma. While this diagnosis is serious, we are optimistic about the prognosis, since lymphoma at this stage is treatable. Emma will have six rounds of chemotherapy beginning in January and continuing for three to four months. For the first round, she will be in the hospital for two weeks.

Emma lives in Tokyo, where she is pursuing a master's degree in language education at International Christian University. She is receiving care here in Japan and hopes to finish her studies and graduate this spring. Pamela and I are currently on leave from teaching at Ball State University and staying in Japan to support and care for Emma through the beginning of this journey.

Funds raised will go toward medical costs and care not covered by insurance.
