Ella's Hope to Sing in Colorado

Ella, our 13-year daughter, has a progressive, degenerative, neuromuscular disease known as Spinal Muscular Atrophy (Type 2) and is confined to a power wheelchair.

Ella has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity this summer...singing with her beloved choir (Young Naperville Singers [YNS]) in Colorado for a 5-day performance extravaganza titled, "Sing-a-Mile-High Festival"!!

She is beyond excited!

Her mom (Lindsay) will be required to travel with her (oh darn, Lindsay!) as her chaperone and primary caregiver. Lindsay is a recent (below-the-knee) amputee (2019) and has experienced several health setbacks since that time. Despite her challenges, Lindsay is eager, excited, and ready to chaperone for this YNS event and care for Ella.

Unfortunately, our current finances will not allow us to pay for two people to take the trip. As it goes, this one is an all or nothing deal for Ella; and she simply cannot travel by herself.

As her parents, we decided to try to raise some money to offset the costs to send Ella and Lindsay to CO; and try to make ends meet for them while they're there. We anticipate some extra expences will be incurred in order to provide any unexpected accommodations for either of them.

All monies will go into a savings account and used specifically for this incredible adventure!

Any financial help for Ella & Lindsay is greatly appreciated and felt deep down in our hearts and voices!

As they prepare for the trip, while they're there, and when they return...we will post their experiences here---to keep everyone in the loop!
