Hi, my name is Jasmine Williams and my partner and I, Matthew Pote, are looking to raise some funds to help us with the loss of earnings we will have due to our little newborn baby boy having a rare medical diagnosis.
Hirschsprung’s disease is a condition where a baby’s bowel hasn’t developed properly in the womb, meaning the ganglion nerves that help us to push out poo is missing from some of his bowel. Eli has to undergo a pull through surgery on the 2nd of December to try and correct this. Dependent on his type of Hirschsprung’s he may also be given a Stoma bag until he is one years old.
We first found out about Eli’s condition the day after he was born, he became very ill with entercolitis and had to be rushed to Manchesters children’s hospital where we spent 3 weeks getting him better. We learned how to do manual poo washouts and we have to perform these twice a day until he can have his surgery.
We are very kindly asking people if they can spare anything to helping us with the loss of earnings we had for our 3 weeks stay and so that Matt can take the appropriate time off during Eli’s surgery so we can support him together as a family.
We want to thank everyone who has been there for us since the start and already done so much to help us!
Love from the Pote Family
