Eila’s New Heart

Donation protected

In July, my son, Morgan and his wife Caiya were blessed with a beautiful little girl, Eila Brown. Eila was born with congenital heart defects that required her first open heart surgery at 6 days old. The surgery was needed to reduce blood flow and keep her alive for further development and to prepare for the next series of operations.

FAST FORWARD 5 MONTHS:  Two weeks ago Eila made it through a transplant and is healing! This will be a long process and they must permanently relocate to Denver for her medical care.

They are uprooted from their home, jobs, and family but remain thankful,  grateful, and hopeful. Their strength is renewed each day because of the love and support of their families and the prayers that are coming from Wyoming, California, Louisiana, Florida and beyond.

Many of you have reached out and want to also help financially so I created this GoFundMe Account. With your help they will be able to focus on helping Eila heal.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide and for your love and prayers!

THE FULL STORY BELOW:
I watched this family embrace every challenge with unwavering faith and Eila was able to go home with medical support. Her parents became experts in replacing feeding tubes, knowing when to give her oxygen, and uploading videos of her breathing to a medical web portal daily.  Then after a month  Eila’s little heart began to decline and she was airlifted to her birth hospital in Utah.

The medical staff spoke the words that parents pray they never hear, "There is nothing else we can do for Eila." Morgan and Caiya began to urgently call other medical facilities for second opinions and a miracle happened. A hospital in Denver accepted Eila's difficult case and believed she could be a candidate for a heart transplant.

Without hesitation, Morgan began the 5.5 hour drive to Denver as Eila and Caiya were transported by jet.

After 2 weeks at the hospital in Denver, Eila's heart stopped beating, she had to be resuscitated and she had a stroke. Still, they pushed forward.  At one month, the words they prayed they would hear, "We found a donor match for your daughter and we will begin a heart transplant tomorrow."
