Wioleta's Surgical Expenses

Dear Friends, 

I never thought that my life was going to be this difficult, but it is… since I was a baby, I had multiple surgeries done, and it’s a never- ending pain so far. I was born with a defect such as dislocation of the knee joint in both legs and feet deformity so my first surgery was the day I was born. My mom had cancer that time, so it was a really rough time for my family… A little later, I was diagnosed with a Limb Length Discrepancy… when I was about thirteen / fourteen years old, I had a leg lengthening using an external fixator… a surgical treatment to stabilize bone and soft tissues... I had around twenty one pins in my bone that needed to be taken care of everyday. Cleaned well to make sure there wasn’t any infection. This was very exhausting for me and my family who had to take care of me for two years since I was unable to do it myself…This was the most painful surgery I have ever witnessed. I couldn’t attend school and be socially active in most of my High School years… Unfortunately this wasn’t the end of my discomfort. Lastly, when my leg healed I had to have an external fixator put once again to straight my knee. I was about seventeen years old that time, and everything started all over again… I am asking you for a huge help. I’m in need of another surgery, this time it’s for my ankle. My bone shifted over to the other side, it really hurts when I walk long distance even tough I try to avoid situations like that, but I still can’t function like everyone else… I can’t wear any shoe other than boots…I can’t stand for a long time and I can’t sit either because my leg and ankle gets stiffed…The only doctor that can fix this for me is in Florida, and the only insurance that they accept is from Florida. This is a really expensive trip for me and barely possible to make. Dr. Dror Paley is located in West Palm Beach, Florida.
