Educational support for Lindsay, Harrison, Skylar

Our dear friend John Schmitt was suddenly lost on August 25th, leaving behind his three beautiful children; Lindsay, Harrison, and Skylar, and his loving wife, Carolyn.

So many have been asking how they can help to support the family through this difficult time.

We have come together to create a GoFundMe campaign to support the family by providing financial assistance to help ease the burden of educational costs that lie ahead.

About John:

John was a loving husband and father and leaves behind his wife Carolyn Roth Schmitt and his three beautiful children, Lindsay 17, Harrison 16, and Skylar 14. John resided in Brewster NY for the last 20 years. John also left behind his beloved parents Richard William and Anne Marie Schmitt of Mount Kisco along with his two sisters Lisa Marie Palazzetti and Tracy Hall.

John attended SUNY Oneonta and received his bachelor's degree in business administration. After working for private companies, he decided to open his own business, Rimrock Associates Inc, for which he was an executive recruiter and consultant for 20 years.

John loved to coach and attend his children’s sports and activities. When not attending their activities, John couldn’t wait for fishing season to start in the spring and hunting season in the fall. He was an avid sportsman. In the winter he traveled north to Vermont for the ski season. He also loved playing golf and enjoyed being in a league with friends. Some of his most enjoyable times were their family Summer vacations in Nantucket. He was extremely happy when spending time at the beach with Carolyn and his children.

John was only forty-nine which is way too young to lose someone. They say “It’s better to have loved and lost than to never have loved” which couldn’t be more appropriate for the way John’s family and friends feel. He had an impact on so many lives and we are all better for knowing and loving him. He will be sorely and surely missed by all his friends and family.

Our love for John will never fade. We will miss you forever.
