Betsy and Gene would never ask for help, but I am asking for them.

Gene has recently been admitted to the hospital and is in the ICU, for what may be an extended stay. Due to this family emergency, Betsy is temporarily out of work. Many people have already kindly reached out, but their immediate need is income for gas, food, and other basic daily necessities.
