If you know me, you know how much I LOVE Sri Lanka. The country is by far the most beautiful I have ever visited, but its greatest asset is its people.

I have created this fundraiser to support locals in Sri Lanka after the recent cyclone and severe weather events that have caused devastating damage, loss of life and major disruption to communities. Sri Lankan citizens cannot set up their own GoFundMe accounts which is why I am doing this on their behalf.

My friend Gee, the owner of Yoyo Surf Hostel in Ahangama, has been working closely with impacted communities to help families who have lost homes and belongings. While Yoyo Surf Hostel was not affected, many parts of the island have been hit incredibly hard. Across the country the cyclone has damaged homes, destroyed essential items and left many families struggling to access food, water and basic supplies.

The cyclone and resulting flooding and landslides have sadly caused deaths and left many people without safe shelter. Roads in and out of the area have been closed, making it even harder for locals to reach stores or receive support from nearby towns. Many families are now isolated and urgently need help.

Every cent donated will be sent directly to Gee and passed on to impacted communities so they can purchase food, clean water, medical supplies and anything else that is needed. I will be completely transparent by sharing screenshots of all transfers and updates from Gee so donors can see exactly where their money is going.

Sri Lanka has given me so much kindness and connection, and this is an opportunity to give back to a community that truly needs help right now. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a real difference to families who are trying to rebuild and stay safe.
