My name is Tree, and I’m writing this today with a vulnerable and hopeful heart. I'm reaching out to my community of friends, family, and kind strangers for help navigating a critical gap between my extensive medical needs and the start of a new work contract.
My Health Journey
For a long time, I have been living with multiple types of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS). For those who may not know, EDS is a group of genetic disorders that affect the body's connective tissue—the "glue" that holds everything together. For me, this has led to a host of serious issues, including severe complications with my cardiovascular system, chronic pain, and joint instability.
On top of the daily challenges of EDS, I am also in borderline kidney and liver failure. This has progressed to the point where I now require regular dialysis treatments to do the work my organs can't. Dialysis is life-sustaining, but it is also physically, emotionally, and financially draining. Each session is a stark reminder of the battle I'm fighting.
The Current Challenge: A Perfect Storm
I am a determined and hardworking person, and I have some wonderful news on the horizon: I have secured new contract work that is set to begin in early November. This job is a light at the end of the tunnel, promising the stability I need to manage my health and get back on my feet.
However, there is a gap between now and my first paycheck. The combination of my intensive medical needs and my current lack of income has created a perfect storm. The cost of medical co-pays, medications, transportation to dialysis, and special dietary needs—on top of essential daily expenses like rent, utilities, and food—has become impossible to manage.

Your donation will be a lifeline. It will provide the breathing room I desperately need to focus on my health and successfully transition into my new work without the crushing stress of falling behind on bills.
The funds raised will be used for:
Medical Expenses: Covering insurance co-pays for dialysis and specialist appointments, prescription costs, and necessary medical supplies.
Essential Living Costs: Ensuring my rent/mortgage is paid, keeping the lights and heat on, and affording groceries that meet my strict dietary needs.
Transportation: Travel costs to and from my dialysis center, which is 3 times a week.
My fundraising goal is $8,000. This amount would be enough to cover these essential costs until my new income stream is stable. I know it feels like a lot to ask for, staying alive is an expensive proposition.
