Hey everyone. In August 2025 I made a fundraiser for my sweet girl Toto to help with vet expenses as she was getting sick after egg laying. Unfortunately I was forced to use payment services such as PayPal and Venmo due to Gofundme disabling my account because of inactivity. It took 2 months to get my account reinstated, and I was suggested to update my fundraiser with a follow-up and re-post it as a Gofundme once I had access again.

Long story short, I adopted Toto in November 2024 so my bachelor Friend could have some company while I’m at work. They quickly got married, however, Toto started getting sick after egg laying and had to go to the vet 3 times between then and August.

After her 3rd visit she recovered but due to a hormonal/reproductive issue we came to the conclusion that she could not be mated at all. She is a bachelorette and her ex-husbird a bachelor again. It really breaks my heart I can no longer keep them housed together, so I try my best to fill in the gaps when I can.

I was also no longer able to receive help from the vet tech Toto was under after that visit. She transferred ownership to me, so I decided to make a follow-up appointment at a new vet as the clinic she was going to was way too expensive.

I took her to Dr. Monaco at Old Country Animal Clinic and after another round of bloodwork post-meds, her white blood cell count went back to normal and so was everything else except for a blood parasite she has. This is not the cause of her issues and there’s really no treatment for this, but the vet said there’s nothing to treat. He simply suggested total separation from her mate moving forward.

Additionally, she is now insured so if this happens again my costs should be heavily discounted after the deductible.

I raised $200 from my last fundraiser which covered her first 2 visits. However, I need around the same amount to cover her 3rd visit and, if possible, extra to help with her follow-up at her new vet.

I’m reaching out to the bird community one last time to see if I can get anymore help with Toto’s costs. Anything extra will be set aside for her or my other birds.
