Hi everyone!

I’m Jessica Gonzales, and I’m reaching out to share the story of my dear friend, Luz, someone who truly has a heart of gold. In the more than 10 years that I’ve known her, she’s been a constant source of love, kindness, and positivity to everyone she meets. Whether you’ve known her for a lifetime or just a short while, Luz makes you feel seen and supported. She’s overcome so much already—surviving a coma and enduring multiple surgeries—yet her strength and beautiful spirit shine through it all. Now, she’s raising two beautiful toddlers with her husband, Pablo, who is just as dedicated and hardworking.

Recently, their world was turned upside down when Pablo was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney cancer. This is a serious and aggressive cancer, meaning it’s already advanced and will require both surgery and chemotherapy. The treatment is long and difficult, and with Pablo being unable to work for an extended time, it’s left their family in a really tough spot financially. As their sole provider, his absence only adds to the heavy burden Luz is already carrying.
