In the heart of rural southeast Alabama lives Phillip, a man whose hands are as calloused as his heart is kind. He’s a jack-of-all-trades — the type of person who can fix just about anything, from a sputtering lawnmower to a semi. But what he’s facing now is something no tool or skill set can repair.
Phillip’s wife, Aleah, has been battling stage 5 kidney failure after years of complications from childhood diabetes. She’s on the transplant waiting list at Tulane in New Orleans, The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, and Vanderbilt in Nashville. We are hoping and praying each day for the call that could change their family’s life forever. Until then, Aleah requires constant medical care and regular treatments several hours a week.
Together, Phillip and Aleah are raising their four young boys, all under the age of 14. They’re bright, full of energy, and love their mama fiercely — but they know she’s sick. Phillip does everything he can to keep their world steady: getting the boys off to school, tending to Aleah’s needs, and taking on every odd job he can find between doctor visits and caregiving duties.
Despite his dedication, Phillip's work opportunities are limited. Reliable transportation has become one of his biggest challenges. The family doesn’t have a working vehicle of their own, so Phillip often has to borrow one from friends or neighbors just to get Aleah to her appointments or take the boys where they need to go. It’s an exhausting balancing act that leaves him feeling stretched thin, both financially and emotionally.
Still, Phillip remains grateful for his home, his community, and the small miracles that get them through each week. What he needs most right now is a dependable vehicle — something large enough to carry Aleah safely to her treatments and to get their sons to church and doctor visits without relying on others.
Every dollar donated goes directly toward helping Phillip purchase reliable transportation for his family and cover necessary costs associated with Aleah’s ongoing care. This is a hardworking, humble family simply trying to make it through an incredibly difficult season.
Your support means more than words can express. Whether it’s a small gift, a shared prayer, or helping spread the word, you can help keep this loving family moving forward together.
