Nobody thought it could or would ever happen, but it did.

My name is Justin Bills and my life changed dramatically when I was 37 years old. I had a massive stroke that took 100% of my left brain, leaving me completely paralyzed on my right side and unable to speak due to aphasia.

Today as I write this, grateful to still be here, I continue to work hard every single day to try to recover as best as I can for three main reasons, their names are Hank, Annie and Aurelia and they are my life.

I have learned when at your lowest you see who is truly there. Through all the hurdles I have faced, none have been as challenging as the emotional and financial ones that have burdened my parents for almost four years. They are constantly there for me, they have opened their hearts and their home, they care for me and help raise their grandchildren. They have taken on all the expenses that come with paying for a custody battle that was not theirs to fight and have taken on medical expenses that seem to never end. They have made the incredible sacrifice to accept the impact of caring for their adult son for life.

All this, while having to continue to work, and hardest of all, I am not able to help them.

I have watched as they have drained their bank account and sold precious items to pay for medical expenses and procedures needed to help in my recovery. Now, I am asking for help because they will be facing a critical challenge with the latest procedure’s cost of $60,000. for a treatment in neurological recovery that insurance will not pay for.
