Cancer Treatment Fund Feb. 2022
Now we can help someone who has always given a helping hand to others!
Many people know my bonus-brother, Tim Bogenreif (Bogie), from his radio play-by-play of Red River Valley area youth sports. We also know his readiness to help family and friends whenever needed, and his ability to encourage and motivate those around him with heartfelt support, laughter, or prayer. Recently Tim has started his own business, Compassion Family Care, to provide in-home care to people with significant health and mobility issues.
Tim’s purpose in life seems to be interacting with others in a supportive positive way. Now all of us have an opportunity to support him through one of life’s toughest trials. Recently Tim has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Treatment will require chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery to remove 1/3 of the esophagus. During the long journey ahead to beat this disease, he will not be able to work.
Treatment for esophageal cancer requires Chemotherapy 1 day a week and Radiation 5 days a week for 5 1/2 weeks. Surgery will require a minimum of a 7 to 10 day hospital stay. He will need a feeding tube for up to 2 months.
The financial ramifications of forging ahead to beat this cancer would be a heavy financial burden on its own, but Tim has also been successfully battling bladder cancer over the last 2 years. This has required a Cystoscopy every 3 to 4 months, with any detected suspicious tissue removed at that time. Somehow Tim has continued to be resilient and successful through this ordeal.
As many people do, Tim and his wife Jodi (my sister) have struggled to meet the financial responsibilities of intense medical care. This new diagnosis has created additional concern and stress over how they will meet another batch of high medical bills. It is my hope that we can come together and lift some of that stress to make way for a focus on healing and health.
I hope you will join “Team Bogie” in any way you can. Pray, give to this fund, or share this GoFundMe page with everyone you can think of!
I’ll provide updates here as I have them. Please check back often!
