Running for the Reef - Supporting the EcoMarines

Due to an unforeseen family emergency, my run has unfortunately been postponed until further notice.

Welcome to my GoFundMe page and thank you for donating!

On October 30th, I will attempt to run a loop around Moreton Island.

I can bore you with long texts containing all the details but you are probably busy, so here is your TL;DR version ;) (if you do want to read more, please scroll down!):
  • I'm raising money for the EcoMarines
  • ~87km of running
  • 95+% beach
  • Tidal waves to keep into account
  • Limited water sources
  • No aid stations

By no means is this an easy challenge. However, I will be well-prepared and I am confident that I will be able to complete it successfully. The goal is to finish within 12-15hrs depending on the circumstances.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me privately!

Thanks again for donating!!!

Please note that unforeseen circumstances such as injury can cause me to have to cancel or give up on my run - no refunds will be provided, but the kids in EcoMarines programmes and I will still be very thankful for your support.

It is no new news, the Great Barrier Reef, mangroves, and our oceans are under increasing pressure.

We've all seen and heard the stories of bleaching corals, increasing temperatures, and rising seas. Our ecosystems are being tested more than ever, which is why I have decided to take upon me a massive challenge to raise awareness and money for the EcoMarines Foundation, a non-profit that provides free environmental education to schools across Queensland.

Through their programmes, the EcoMarines Foundation empowers young people to protect our oceans, giving them the knowledge, the passion, and the tools to create real change in their communities.

To raise awareness and funds for this mission, I will attempt something meaningful and personal: a 85-90 km ultra run around Moreton Island, my current home. The run will not be easy, as the lap is done almost entirely on the beach without any aid stations underway, limited water resources available, and potentially partly done in the sun with temperatures that can reach 25+ degrees Celsius.

️However, the island is absolutely beautiful and I want the future generations to be able to enjoy this environment just as much as I am right now, which is the reason why I am Running for the Reef.

How you can help
Your donation, no matter the size, makes a direct impact. To thank you for your support, I want to bring you along on this journey.

All proceeds will go directly to EcoMarines, helping them expand their programmes and inspire more schools, more kids, and more change. If you can’t donate, simply sharing this campaign helps massively too.
