Donate to help Aurora-Lillie fight against Nephroblastoma

Dear all,

My name is Oscar Church. I am a year 7 pupil at Pool Academy.

I am inviting teachers, pupils, family and friends at Pool Academy and to the general public to join my special fundraiser in support of my 3-year-old little sister, Aurora-Lillie.

On the 3rd February 2025, my sister was diagnosed with nephroblatoma, a rare kidney cancer (Wilms), alongside a 16cm tumour in her abdomen.

Since Aurora-Lillie’s diagnosis. She has undergone surgery at Bristol Children’s Hospital for a portacath (a line) to be inserted as an access for her to receive medical treatment.

So far, Aurora-Lillie has received 4 weeks of chemotherapy under the care of The Oncology Specialist Team at RCHT.

She has also been admitted to the Oncology Ward at RCHT for many infections, spike in temperatures and administrated under several anti-biotics to help her improve her overall health.

Wednesday 12th March, my sister returned to Bristol Children’s Hospital where she underwent 5 hours of surgery to have her right kidney removed and the tumour. She was in high intensive care, had a blood transfusion, NGT tube, a drain, a catheter, under local anaesthetic for wound pain management, amongst other medications.

However, the surgeons have taken some her lymph nodes off to the pathology lab for further sampling to identify what stage her cancer is and whether it is a low-risk, medium or high-risk. This will determine if Aurora-Lillie requires radiotherapy alongside her chemotherapy and what her treatment plan will look like. My mum will find out the results of the staging of her cancer on Wednesday 26th January 2025.

Currently, Aurora-Lillie has lost her hair, is unable to attend nursery and at times is neutropenic which limits her social connections and needing to isolate from the outside world.

As her older brother, I would like to create a fundraiser to help support my sister in anyway that I can; travelling expenses, food, special toys and treats to keep my sister occupied whilst remaining as in inpatient. 10% of the money raised will also be going to the Oncology ward at RCHT to help support other children like my sister in a time of need.

Saturday 10th May 2025, myself and my mum will be completing a 22 mile bike ride (Bissoe Trail). The starting position will take place at The Hub Portreath, meeting outside @ 12:00pm. We will ride to Devoran and back to The Hub Portreath where we will all join back together for some light refreshments. (Please, do not feel rushed to finish, you are also welcome to walk, run or even crawl (if you wish).

Please bring sensible footwear and clothing and a drinks bottle. (I will be providing personalised t-shirts for you to wear on the day).

My mum will be providing anyone that contributes to my fundraiser with a medal and certificate in ore of supporting our Aurora-Lillie.

If anyone would like to join, please inform my Head of Year, Mr. Durant and my mum, Amy-Jayne Summers who will help me figure out numbers for the day.

Below, I have a link of the bissoe trail to offer some insight as to what to expect on the day.

Any donations is highly appreciated or even sharing my charitable course across social media.
