Hi! My name is Madison Stark, the director and writer of “How Long Can You Go Without Breathing?”, an upcoming short film. I'm an award-winning independent filmmaker who's very passionate about telling stories.

“How Long Can You Go Without Breathing?” tells the story of Eve and Lilith, a couple stranded in a house in the midst of a post-nuclear apocalypse. When an imminent warhead spells certain doom for the pair, they struggle to find the best way to spend their final hours together.

At its core, this film is about the perseverance of love in the face of death and extinction. It's an exploration of what passion can look like when all hope seems to be lost.

This story means a lot to me because of this theme. As a queer person, I've always desired more films directly representing people in the LGBTQ+ community, especially now, when there is a large political onslaught against us living authentically as ourselves. To me, this film represents being seen, and being loved. In order to really showcase these feelings effectively, we need your help!

The money we raise will be used to rent film equipment, craft costumes, purchase set dressing, and feed the cast and crew. Any additional funds that aren’t used during production will be invested towards marketing as well as film festival submissions.
