Festival International de Louisiane is celebrating 40 Years! This non-profit has fought hard to protect Acadiana's culture, while also sharing cultures of the world. But it's getting more difficult to pull off every year due to increasing expenses.
DID YOU KNOW...
Festival's team raises funds year-round to bring music to downtown Lafayette. The budget for performers alone is $300,000, and the daunting task of visa applications and CWAs (Central Withholding Agreements between bands and the IRS) associated with international touring acts has reached an all-time high. Today, roughly 30% of what Festival pays to International Artists goes towards covering these fees! This all makes booking international music more challenging each year.
