Help Me Build a New Life on Two Wheels
Hi, my name is Dean Ray Symm, and I’m reaching out to ask for a little help—something I rarely do.
I’m currently in community corrections here in Montrose, Colorado, rebuilding my life from the ground up. Sobriety is no longer a goal—it's my way of life. Every day is about making healthier choices, staying focused, and walking the path of recovery. Right now, I’m studying to become a Certified Recovery Coach so I can give back and help others on their own journeys. That’s my passion and my future.
Transportation is one of my biggest hurdles. I’ve found an e-bike that would be a game-changer—reliable, healthy, and perfect for getting to work and meetings. The bike costs $2,000, but the vendor has generously cut the price by $1,000 to support me. I also qualified for a $450 Colorado e-bike tax credit, which brings my out-of-pocket balance down to just $670, including the taxes.
This isn't a handout—it's a hand up. I’ll be starting work soon, and I fully intend to pay it forward 100-fold. I believe in earning my future, and with your help, I can get there just a little faster and a lot safer.
If you know me, you know I’ve never been one to ask for help. But I’m putting my pride aside because I believe in this. I believe in myself. And I believe in second chances.
Thank you for reading and for any support—whether it’s a donation, a share, or just words of encouragement. It means more than I can say.
