Hola Familia, I pray all is well with you!

My name is Messiah Toure, and I’m honored to introduce you to North Philly’s cultural cornerstone, Centro Nueva Creación — a place where our youth are seen, heard, and deeply loved. A place where culture isn’t just celebrated — it’s the curriculum. For over 25 years, Centro has provided a second home for young people — a home where resilience is nurtured daily through our after-school programs, creative expression, and deep engagement with Puerto Rican, Afro-Caribbean, and broader Latino cultures.

Centro is in the aftercare sector, but we’re doing much, much more than just running after-school care. We’re cultivating community. We’re shaping future leaders, artists, and truth-tellers. And we’re doing it with joy, care, and a whole lot of love. We don’t just teach — we uplift. We build confidence, spark imagination, and help young people see themselves as powerful contributors to their communities.

Now, we’re dreaming bigger. And we need your help.

Every dollar you donate to Centro Nueva Creación goes right back into the lives of young people in North Philly. Here’s how your support shows up:

$25 — Feeds a Child for a Week

Helps us provide healthy snacks and warm food after school — so no child has to learn or create on an empty stomach.

$50 — Sparks Creativity

Covers art supplies, journals, instruments, and hands-on materials for workshops in poetry, painting, storytelling, and music.

$100 — Opens a Child’s World

Funds field trips to museums, cultural centers, local colleges, and performances that expand kids’ sense of what’s possible.

$250 — Pays for Real Mentorship

Supports trained educators, artists, and cultural workers who guide our kids with love, patience, and purpose.

$500+ — Keeps Our Doors Open

Helps us cover rent, staff time, and program supplies — ensuring Centro remains a safe, consistent, and joyful space year-round.
