My name is Kendra and I am fundraising for my dog, Chance.
Chance is an almost 11-year-old border collie who I have owned and loved since the day he was born when I was 15. He’s been with me through every accomplishment, struggle, breakup, multiple moves, the birth of my daughter, everything. He’s been the best companion and protector I could’ve asked for. Chance also has a huge attachment to my 5-year-old daughter and sleeps in her room every night. We love him so much and know he deserves more time with his family.
In February of this year, Chance underwent spinal surgery to remove a mass that had compressed his spine so severely he lost the ability to use his hind legs a few weeks prior to his surgery. The mass was removed and biopsied. Unfortunately, the mass came back as lymphoma cancer. However, he was diagnosed with small-cell lymphoma, which is not very aggressive and treatable. Chance is currently undergoing chemo treatments and attends weekly water rehab therapy in hopes he can walk again.
Besides the cancer and losing the ability to use his hind legs, Chance is in good spirits and happy to be with his family. He recently had an ultrasound and bloodwork done that showed he is in good health and that the cancer has not spread. Our next plan is to get him a wheelchair so he can get around better.
I am currently in debt for $15,000 for Chance's MRI and spinal surgery. The purpose of this GoFundMe is to raise funds so I can continue his chemo treatments, monthly oncologist visits, frequent bloodwork, and weekly therapy sessions.
