Donate a phone and give the youth in Africa a voice

Set up a social media account where 50 young africans can share their lives, challenges and succes stories
It is all about 'the pictures we never see!'
Many African countries have a large youth population. The social economic situation of many youth is very challenging. High youth unemployment rates, Limited access to information and social services stagnate their development of educational, life skills and increase their frustration. To proclaim their problems and influence their future a lot of youth engage themselves in community empowerment and religious activities.
I am part of Peace inside, a group founded by youth living in the Netherlands. Started as a facebookgroup on social media. We as youth living in Europe we wanted to be connected with the youth in Africa and hear their stories and see the pictures they never show us on television or social media. Our ultimate goal is to provide a mobile application which will connect the youth in Africa with the one in Europe. To work jointly on peace and development. The empowerment offered through the app is on the following themes: Social economic, access to information and civic and political participation.
Activities
Phase 1. The first phase is access to information. We will point young bloggers in different African countries (gender balanced). Who will collect the voice of the Youth in their countries. Send 50 smartphones and if possible laptops to the young bloger. After a online socia media training, their assignment will be share every week a picture / video.
Phase 2. After one year the mobile application will be available for the youth in Europe and Africa. This will open a platform of exchange of ideas and information on the international level. The two groups are going to be facilitated to organise or participate at events (online and offline) were they can address their voice to (inter)national stakeholders like multinationals, goverment and municipalities.
Objectives
To increase access to information by giving the young bloggers access to internet (phones + credit). Also their posts will increase the level of information of the young audience.
Create a cycle of positive thinking, decision making and promoting a positive youth lifestyle through the blogs and social activities.
To break physiological and material exclusion of the (unemployed) youth in Africa.
Promote effective youth civic and political participation through debate, lobby and advocacy.
There is special attention to students with limited access to IT.
