Karen Price

Hi, my name is Lisa and I am fundraising for my friend Karen Price. Karen is a wonderful person who had a stroke last year and has been working hard to overcome her limitations. She was in rehab for 9 months and moved home in March of this year. She needs to move to an assisted living closer to her daughter Kari and access for socialization. She is a well known quilter in Idaho Falls, Blackfoot and Pocatello, Idaho. She is a member of Snake River Valley Quilt Guild, Portneuf Valley Quilt Guild, the Blackfoot Piecemakers Quilt Guild, and Stitch and Giggles among other groups.

She is a semi-retired special education teacher of 49 years. She has an amazing spirit and was always eager to help in any way she could. She is mainly in a wheelchair but can use a hemi-walker. Karen lives in a remote area of Blackfoot and is receiving some home assistance from friends and caregivers. She has not had access to the outside since she got home. She is slowly getting back into her crafts but still has limited use of her left arm. Karen is working hard to improve her skills as quilting and other crafts are imperative to her physical and mental wellbeing. The new location will allow her to interact with other quilters and possibly give some classes to residents. She loves English Paper Piecing, hand quilting, making quilts with O's, H's, and Dresden plates.

Karen's daughter Kari Prindle is handling the money for Karen. Kari and her sister Katy are helping Karen finacially to get into the Assisted Living and the money from the fund will be used to help with her living and medical needs.

We want to help her get back into a situation where she can thrive and be with others.
