DJ needs help with medical bills and monthly bills

Hi, my name is Sarah and I have been blessed to be married to an amazing, kind, faithful and loving husband named DJ.

On February 17th, I came home from work after reading a text that my husband was feeling quite ill.

we realized he had a stroke and he was rushed to the hospital. He had a heart condition which we had not known about called atrial fibrillation. Blood had pooled in a chamber of his heart, and created a clot that went to a large artery in his brain. His left side is paralyzed, but we are pleased to report that after 3 weeks, his left leg is gaining strength and he is learning how to walk again.

This recovery is going to take time. He is 64 years old, so we are hoping to get him on state disability and medicare in July when he turns 65. He has a positive outlook and hopes to recover fully!

we are asking for a little help bridging the gap between the end of his paid leave in May and the time he is able to receive Social Security. His medical bills are coming in and will exceed our savings. We also need to remodel the small bathroom on the 1st floor so that he can be in his wheelchair and shower. ( this part is really a wish for him.)

our amazing company, Zupan’s Markets has been very supportive to both of us. DJ has been with the company for 30 years! Mike Zupan has offered to help DJ with insurance until he is able to be on Medicare.

we have been devastated by this event in our lives, but have friends, family, our fellow employees and have tremendous faith in God. We will get through this.
